Bais Menachem - UHI Lag B'Omer Parade
Once again, Bais Menachem and the United Hebrew Institute joined for a fabulous Lag B'Omer parade. The parade began in the UHI parking lot with all the students and teachers of both Bais Menachem and UHI. The parade was led by floats featuring a model of the Bais Hamikdash, the Holy Temple, and a super-sized pair of Tefillin and Shabbos Candles. Two Yeshiva boys provided musical accompaniment on a trailer hitched to one of the floats. Many of the students carried posters with slogans and pictures of Jewish values and Mitzvos.
The parade route traveled from down Third Ave to Davis street, and down First Ave to Kirby Park. The floats and the children entered the park at the parking lot and marched to the center of the park where they enjoyed a lunch barbecue followed by an afternoon of field games and relay races.
We would like to thank Rabbi Nemetsky and the entire staff at the UHI, as well as the Kingston Police Department for making this year's parade the best one yet!!
