Pre-Pesach News
On Thursday, April 2, over 125 students of UHI, Temple Israel and Bnai Brith all gathered together to enjoy an afternoon of special Pesach activities. Children had the opportunity to try their hands at baking matzah, under the tutelage of Rabbi Pinni Levitin, had a special "Jewpardy" game with Rabbi Mendy Seewald, made seder pillows with Mrs. Gerri Kaplan, and played capture the Egyptian.
Special thanks to Mrs. Seewald for all her efforts and coordination of this new and fun program.
Special hand-baked Shmurah Matzah was distributed to more than 80 families, as well as numerous nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
The momentous Birkat Hachama, the special prayer of thanks for the sun, was held at the JCC on Wednesday, April 8.
